This major update contains the following new features and
fixes:
If you are
upgrading from V3.x, please read the V4.0 release
notes before proceeding.

Administration

Changed the Registration option to show
a License table similar to all other tables with clearer licensing
limits.

Added a new scheduled task to import
users from Active Directory.

Rearranged the Browse menu
to group similar functions.

Moved the Logs menu to the Browse menu.

Renamed Copiers to Multi
Function Devices to more accurately describe the range of devices.

Fixed deleting of cost centres on a user
record where the record after the highlight bar was deleted instead
of the highlighted cost centre.

Fixed the shutdown and restart of
computers where sometimes not all computers in a group were
shutdown.

Fixed the lookup of
computer physical (MAC) addresses that caused some wakeups to fail.

Added a new group charging option to
automatically charge to the default (first) cost centre in a user's
individual list. This allows users to charge to a single individual
cost centre without using the client.

Major changes to fix page counting under Windows Server
2008 in both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Fixed detection of multiple copies for
the IMF driver for printers like the HP2600n.

Installation
-
This
release updates any version 3 or later product. If you are running
V2.x you must upgrade to V3.x first before installing
V4.x

Stop all
Gaia services and programs before upgrading. If you use the web
client or web administration, restart IIS before upgrading to unlock
all web modules. See the upgrade
instructions.

The V3 or previous V4 database will be automatically
updated when you first run Administration

colour reporting in Job Attributes for some PCL6 drivers when the last page of the document
was black but previous pages were coloured .

For increased security, the Web
Administration page is now installed in the product folder along with
the executables. To use Web Administration:
-
Copy the file GPWebAdmin.asp from the product folder to the Web sub
folder.
-
Set appropriate NTFS permissions on the file so it cannot be accessed by
unauthorized users.
-
If, during installation or un-installation,
you see a message advising that GPWebAdmin.asp cannot be removed, edit
the file's NTFS permissions to allow your current account to have full
control of it. then re-run the installation.

Fixed low balance notification that
sometimes failed to display.

Fixed
logging of the "Failed" attribute for failed print jobs.

Fixed license checking that sometimes caused
the Net Service to fail to start.

Minor cosmetic changes to the Windows
Client.
